Who are we
The Galician Federation of Associations of and People with Mental Illnesses and Relatives is a non-profitable organization, founded in 1995, which nowadays includes 14 associations distributed all over the region of Galicia.
The mission of FEAFES Galicia includes the defence of the rights that people with mental illnesses, their families and/or carers have, as well as the improvement of their quality of life. Besides, FEAFES Galicia also represents and defends the associative movement FEAFES in the region, by offering support and coordination to all the associations that take part in it.
Through our associations and delegations we are actively present in thirty Galician towns, representing more than 39000 people, from which almost 4000 are members of Feafes Galicia.

Our aims
The work we develop in Feafes Galicia is aimed at improving the quality of life and the daily life of people with mental illnesses. For that reason:
- We offer personalised attention, advice and information
- We bring support to families
- We work to defend the rights of people with mental illnesses and their families
- We make campaigns to raise public awareness, by promoting mental health and fighting the stigma suffered by people with mental illnesses
- We work to increase the possibilities of job insertion, offering orientation, training and mediation with companies.
- We organize leisure activities, among which there are excursions, trips or sports- We offer legal advice and provide protected flats and houses to users.
- We work for the participation and empowerment of people with mental illnesses.
We bet for quality
One of our main challenges is being able to offer services to a larger number of people without having an impact on quality. For this reason, from Feafes Galicia we make an important bet on implementing quality processes.
This journey started in 2007, when one of our most emblematic services, job insertion, received the certification ISO 9001:2008, a recognition that shows the fulfilment of the requirements for obtaining a good quality management system. Moreover, since 2009 we are one in a few Galician entities which has obtained the certification EFQM European Foundation for Quality Management for the whole entity. This quality model is one of the most widely known and prestigious in Europe.
